The planet is isolated from the rest of the universe, unable to seek help as it’s targeted by hostile aliens. Been waiting for this since its announcement four years ago. The Commonwealth is my favorite space opera series. It’s really hard to get into at first just because of how long it has to spend slowly painting its enormous setting in vivid detail, but that’s also what makes it so enjoyable to escape into.
For those unfamiliar with the series, this is basically book #8 so don’t start here. Don’t go start on book #1 (Misspent Youth) either since most people didn’t like it and it has almost nothing to do with the rest of the series. All of the other books share tons of characters and settings so start with #2 (Pandora’s Star).
Thanks so much for posting this. John Lee is the best way to experience this series.
